Cafe at 91 @ Tambun Inn Hotel, Ipoh.

Hey there everyone. I bet you are all glad that it's finally the holidays! I was out with my mum and brothers earlier today and we were searching for a place to have a cup of coffee or tea. I remembered my friend Winnie told me about the new cafe in town which is Cafe at 91, Tambun Inn Hotel. My mum thought we should give it a try as it is super near my house, a total plus point.

Cafe at 91 is located on the ground floor of Tambun Inn Hotel, very close to Mariaville. A quaint little cafe with a warm setting which makes you feel welcomed and comfortable once you enter.

It's a small place with a quiet surrounding, a very suitable place to chat with your friends and family :)

Comfy couch to dine and have a cup of latte.

I've always loved a place with really sweet and cute deco. And I am happy that I could find all sorts of things that match that criteria of mine at this cafe. Yay!

Ain't the design of this place cute? Hehe

And this would be a nice spot for a photo, in my opinion of course. Honestly, I'm quite impressed with my phone's camera so far. Samsung Note FTW :)

Candid pic with the deco. Ignore the blur face. Keep scrolling down.

Just in case you were wondering what are the different coffee types. A simple way of putting it. This is interesting and I don't think I have seen this in any of the cafes I've been to. I am fond of the polaroids too!
The desserts displayed. There are a variety of macaroons, mini ones and cakes which include cheesecake, banana crumble tarts and tiramisu.

And this is my little bro Bryan. Look at his forever alone face! :P

The sofa. Can you see the little tag that says "Little Princess" on the wall? Well, my mum wanted to take it home to hung it on my room door. Sadly, it didn't happen.

And this is what we ordered. They were having a promo today. Buy any 3 desserts on display for RM 10. Wow, good buy :)

The mini macaroons are priced at RM3.90 for 2; tiramisu, cheesecake and banana crumble tart for RM 4.00 each.

Hello Kitty fans, yes. The cafe latte is RM 7.90.

Mum ordered Honey Lemon which is RM5.90 per glass.
I believe my stomach always has a room for desserts. Don't you?

Well, apart from desserts, they do also serve kimchi ramen, sandwiches, waffles, and so much more.

Browse their hand-written menu!
Tiramisuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

My bro Kevin ordered this Iced Chocolate. Well, he loves chocolate. And it comes with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream. RM 8.90 for his favourite drink.

My favourite deco of the cafe! There is a huge bunny. Though I would even like it more if it's blue. Haha, but anyways it is so adorable!!! :)

And of course, a picture with the cute bunny! Look, it even has a halo. I wish I could take it home! Ok, the lighting is off :/

Aikssss, sorry for such a long post. So, whatchu waiting for? Head over to Cafe at 91 to take lots of pictures! I mean, for coffee and desserts, and pictures :) A great hangout place with your girlfriends and guys, take your girlfriend there. That would be really sweet of you and she would like it.

Doodles

I'm not much of a blogger I know. Sighs. I need to manage my time to blog. Seriously. Sorry I left you alone for so long my bloggie. Here's a short post.

I believe to really amplify the meaning of YOLO. It's not about the nightclubs and daredevil acts you attempt in life.

It's just the simple note: Do what you love!

Dance. Sing. Draw. Anything.
Nothing beats the comfortable feeling of being yourself :)

Til then.

DIY Peter Pan Collar Tutorial

Well, I first stumbled upon Peter Pan collars during my visit to shopping stores. They are easy to match with and are detachable. I have been wanting to purchase some but the prices are not cheap! It's like RM29.90 each (like whut?) I really do like these collars, so one day I decided to try and make one myself. I used measurements around my neck and drawing templates to design the collar.

While I was searching for ideas on the net, I discovered a brilliant DIY website which provides the template on how to make our own collar. You can get the template from the website above as it is simple to cut and is suitable for everyone.

Though I really liked the example given, I couldn't find the hole puncher they needed. Since I had some other materials I had with me, I did a little twist with my own imagination. Heesss.

For me, it would be a Pearl Peter Pan collar to give it that elegant and edgy look.

Here are the materials you will need:

1. Black felt
2. A packet of cream pearls
3. Black yarn
4. Black thread
5. Pins
6. Needle (as fine as possible)
7. A pair of scissors
8. Most importantly, the template!

Let's start, shall we?

Cut the collar template slowly by securing it on the black felt with the pins.
You will have two identical sides of the collar. Next, sew the collar sides together at the back with simple stitches so they will attached as one.
You will need around 23 cream pearls for this collar design. Sew each pearl at each loop. It takes time, so be patient. It's worth it, trust me!
Turn to the back of the collar and sew a string of yarn at each end, approximately 25cm long. This will be used to tie the collar behind your neck.

Voila! Your DIY Peter Pan collar is completed. Give it a try and put in some of your creativity! I'm sure it would be fun to do it with your friends. You can add in glitter or make it with another felt colour.

If you have any questions, pls do not hesitate to ask. Send me your DIY Peter Pan collar ideas if you have some. Enjoy!

Til then, ciao!

DIY Peter Pan collar

Stay tuned as I will be giving a step-to-step tutorial tomorrow on how you could make your own personalized Peter Pan collar!

It's simple and fun! You just need basic sewing skills.

You can match it with any T-shirt you like. I did mine from black felt and cream pearls. How would you like your peter Pan collar to be like? (I have no idea where I was looking lol - just focus on the collar would ya?)
Keep your creative ideas til then!

See you tomorrow!

Tea time at Bread Espresso Dessert (B.E.D)

One thing I like the most about Ipoh is that I never fail to find yummy and delicious treats. I saw many of my friends on Instagram posting about a new cafe called Bread Espresso Dessert @ B.E.D. So I decided to pay a short visit over the tiny cafe during tea time.

The moment I opened the door, the aroma of brewing coffee got me excited and happy. That significant smell gave me a flashback of my childhood memories of having breakfast in my parents' regular cafe at Canning Garden. The place was quite comfy and the environment was peaceful and serene. The perfect place to relax and enjoy delicious coffee and desserts, yeah, my favourite kind of place, with free wifi!

The sofa setting is ideal for group chats with friends and family. The décor is pretty and unique too.
It's actually my third time there today. Since I have just started blogging, I thought it would be a good idea to share this place with you. The desserts available there include my personal favourite, Crème brûlée, frangipane, ice-cream, brownies, mini fruit tarts and etc. If you are feeling for something savoury, they also serve quiche and sandwiches made from their soft house bread. Not forgetting the variety of drinks there. For coffee lovers, this is the right place for you. From strong espresso to light frothy cappuccino, there is something for everyone. If you are not a fan of coffee, they serve tea and bottled juices.

Crème brûlée, served with a slice of strawberry (RM5.80)

Blueberry frangipane, something like a pie, but has a tangy flavour to it. (RM7.80)

We ordered latte. The coffee prices are ranging from RM4.80 to RM 9.80. Don't you love the design on them?

The display area that could make me drool. Not to worry, the prices for every item are listed so you don't need to worry about the bill at the end of the day!

Freshly baked bread from the oven. The house bread is only RM2.20 each! Yumsssss. I'm a little weird, I like to eat bread without any butter or jam - the au naturel way.

Quiche anyone? It is actually a savoury pie filled with egg, vege and meat slices plus a little cheese. They normally serve Roasted Chicken quiche for RM4.50 per slice. So reasonably good!

Aren't these mini fruit tarts adorable? I couldn't resist so I decided to pack them home for later. They are sold in a set of  4 (mango, chocolate, strawberry and blueberry) for RM10.
So what are you waiting for? Head over to B.E.D. now for a sweet experience with your friends and loved ones!
If you love desserts like I do, I'm sure you'll find yourself craving for more after your first visit!
